Chicken Noodle Soup ( Filipino Sopas)

Feels like days are going faster, It was just New year's and now February is almost
over and that means Spring is almost here.

The weather here in Italy has been mostly nice.
Sunny but still really cold in the morning and at night.

I decided to make something good for when I feel cold.
I think the boys loved it, I'm so glad.

There's so many version of Chicken noodle soup.
But, this one is special because I grow up eating this even when it's not cold in the Philippines.
Just a very staple food especially for breakfast.

Let me know what you guys think.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound chicken breast or legs
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 pound macaroni - elbow, shell or straight
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion - chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic - minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper - chopped
  • 1 cup carrots - chopped
  • 1 stalk celery (optional) - chopped
  • 12 fluid ounces (1 can) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup Vienna sausages or hotdogs - sliced
  • 2 cups cabbage - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons salt or more
  • 1 tablespoons pepper

Instructions

  • Boil chicken breast in 3 cups water. Once cooked, remove from the stock and cut meat into smaller pieces.
  • In a deep pan, sauté garlic and onion in butter until tender. Add the chicken meat and noodles and cook for 5 minutes stirring from time to time to avoid burning the noodles.
  • Add the chicken stock to the pan and cover. Once it starts to boil add carrots, bell pepper, and celery and cover again.
  • Once the noodle is almost cooked, add the milk and sausage and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for a few minutes more until the noodles are completely cooked and soup starts to thicken. Add cabbage before turning off the stove.

Enjoy!

Dokdo Korean Restaurant

I've been enjoying all of the Italian food we've been having.
But, sometimes I like to eat something else.

I always always crave Asian food!
I've heard this Korean restaurant in Venice was good.
It was an hour drive, I'm so glad hubby said yes to going.

It was worth it the drive!

We came at lunch time.
There was not much people there which was perfect for me.

Started off with some Korean beer Prosecco for me.

Cheers!

Kimbap for Appetizer.

I think we probably ordered too much food.. I just really want to eat everything I remember eating
when I was still in Korea.

All the fixings!

We had to eat some Samgyupsal.
It's usually for 2 or more people.
Oh my god..
So good!

We also ordered some Chicken.
I have the most picky kids so I had to make sure they will at least eat something.

Kimchi cheers! haha

I missed this so much.
I definitely would go back again.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dokdo Restaurant Venice.

Have a great week!
