Pork Adobo

When we got back from Rome we all got a little sick so I didn't want to do
anything at all for few days.
But, yesterday I felt so much better and such in the mood to cook something good.
I felt so bad for not making anything for few days.

So glad I cooked this.
First time I made adobo with pork.
If you guys prefer Chicken here's the recipe (Chicken Adobo )
Both are good, It just depends on your preferences.
Pork is a little greasy, Chicken gets greasy too if you used  thighs and legs but either way
its so good.
What do you guys prefer?

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes, cubed
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 5 cloves crushed garlic
  • 3 pieces dried bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp whole pepper corn
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 pieces hard boiled egg
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds
  3. Add the pork and whole peppercorn. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Pour-in soy sauce and water.
  5. Add the bay leaves and let boil. Simmer (covered) for about 40 to 60 minutes. Note: Add water if needed
  6. Put-in the vinegar and allow re-boiling.

Rome Eats.

Our trip in Rome was definitely awesome. ( Here )
..And of course one of my favorite thing to do
in every places we go is..
Of course,  Eat FOOD!

One thing to be really careful in Rome and anywhere else is to avoid tourist traps restaurants.
They charge so so much.
But you know getting a couple of drinks to enjoy the view is not that bad.
Just don't order everything in the menu. :)
Just sit down have a drink/coffee and enjoy the view.

Spritz at the Piazza Navona.

Lunch near the Pantheon.
Reasonable prices.
Good location.
Staff are so nice.
Food are so good!

All the walking made me so hungry.
These were so good.

After checking in to the hotel, We relaxed a little bit and had dinner with our group.
I was so excited for this.
Authentic Roman dinner!

It's a 5 course meal.
So many food that came out. It feels like its more than 5.

Main dish!

Of course, Dessert.
Tiramisu!

These guys were so good.

We had to get their CD for souvenir.
Awesome dinner.
After that we went back to the hotel and sleep.
Others stayed out and enjoy Rome at night.
Not us though, we were so tired!

After our walking tour and seeing Trevi fountain.
We had a free time ourselves to do whatever we want.
We were so tired from walking we just decided to sit down before heading home.

Found another good location restaurant.
Reasonable prices, good food and the staff were nice.

Pizza!!

After that we went back to the bus and head home.

What an amazing trip.

See you again soon Rome.
Ciao.

Rome, Italy

I seriously have the best husband ever!
He took us to Rome for my birthday weekend.
Well, we went for a  Guided tour but it was definitely better than going by ourselves.
I took too many, I mean too many pictures.
So I will share just some highlights from our trip.
Rome is definitely a place where you really have to see it in person.
Absolutely my favorite trip here in Italy so far.

So, Our started in Vatican city.
It's so much better to go there first thing in the morning.
It was empty but the lines were long already.
We waited in line to go inside the St. Peter's basilica.
It was free.

The church well, pretty much some places here are very strict with outfit
so if you are planning to get in on any of the churches you have to dress accordingly.

Waiting in line wasn't boring.
I mean, Look at this view.

We finally got in after 2 hours!

Inside the church.

It was really awesome.
Feels good to get inside.

Vatican city.

After that we went for walking tour.
It was busy in Rome the time we went.
I have a feeling that its always like that.

Then, we went to Piazza Navona.

One of the thousands of Fountain in Rome.

After that we stopped for lunch. ( Here )

We kept going after lunch then headed to Colloseum!!!!

So amazing!!

Inside the colloseum.

After that we went for more walking tour.

So beautiful everywhere I look.
We checked in at the hotel and waited for Dinner! ( Here )

So much walking for one day.
But, oh so fun!

The next morning, after breakfast we headed for Day 2 in Rome!

Our group.
It was really fun going on a group tour.

More awesome church in Rome.

Pantheon!

After the tour. We stopped for some Gelato then went to Trevi Fountain.

Wow!
First thing we all said.
Trevi fountain is beautiful in pictures you see online.
But, seeing it in person is priceless.
I understand now why everybody have this place on their bucketlist.

Amazing.

More walking.
There's really so much to see in Rome.
You need more than a day to see the highlights of Rome
I probably missed a lot.

French Macaroons!

One of the street performers in Rome.
Still wondering how is he floating.

 The Crowded Spanish steps.

The view from the top was breathtaking.
After that we had lunch ( Here )
Then headed home.
:(

What an amazing trip!
I would definitely want to come back again.

Ciao!
