Siena, Italy

Happy Spring!!
How are you all doing?
I'm so excited for warmer weather!!!
To start off this season we went for a Trip in Tuscany area.

Tuscany is definitely on my bucket list.
Hopefully before we leave we'll be able to come back and explore more!

We already went to Florence before and wanted to see somewhere not as busy as Florence.
...And Siena is perfect.

One of the nicest City I've ever been to.

How beautiful is this???

Walking is definitely different, its very hilly there.

Wear comfortable shoes!

Siena Square.

Siena is known for having Horse Race during Summer here in this Square.
It's part of their tradition.

It was such a beautiful day.

My photographer in training.

Siena Cathedral.

 It's so beautiful inside.

My loves.
The square was not as big.
We had lunch... The best Pizza I've ever had by the way!!

Then we had Gelato and just relaxed there.

Everybody was doing the same.

It was definitely one of the relaxing day trip we went to.

Look how cute is this?!!?!

Have you been to Siena?!!
Such a beautiful city!!

Brazilian food.

I can't believe in few more days its officially Spring!!
Even though today was a cold rainy day.
I'm just looking forward to a nicer weather, I'm done with winter! haha

Last weekend we decided to try the Brazilian restaurant that I've been wanting to try.
It's been a while since we had Brazilian food so even though its a bit of a drive we still went.

It was actually only 30 minutes drive from our house.
Probably longer if you live in Aviano but I highly recommend going!

I didn't think you need reservations but its always better to do it to make sure you have a table
We came when they just opened but, it got packed quickly.

Their buffet.

They have a lot of good selections.

But, of course..
Before anything else. :)
haha!

Drinks of course!

Then the meat started.
They have steak, pork, sausages, chicken.
..And wow.
It was really good.
Their meat is similar to the meat they serve from that Restaurant at the Farm that
we love to go to.
So good, taste so fresh and you can eat how much ever you want to.
That's a good deal!

They have a play area for the kids which was perfect.
So we can finish our dinner in peace.
Until whenever we want to. :)

So perfect to have a dessert.

I would definitely come back here whenever.
I highly recommend.
Let me know what you guys think!

Have a great week!

Ube Puto Flan

Hi guys!!
Remember when I made ( Puto flan )
It's been a while since I made it.
When I miss Motherland (Philippines)
Making Filipino food is my favorite thing to do.

I pretty much made this same as the regular Puto Flan, the only difference I did was
I added 3 tsp of Ube Flavoring that I got from the asian store when we were in Rome.
I almost forgot I have it.

Its so easy to make!

Ingredients:

For the Flan:
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
For the Puto:
  • 2 Cups self raising flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 Cup granulated sugar
  • 4 egg whites (2/3 Cup)
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • Cooking spray (pam)
  • 3 Tsp Ube flavoring

Directions:
  • Make the flan first. In a small bowl, mix together the egg yolks and condensed milk. Add the lemon juice.
  • Heat water in the bottom pan of the steamer or get your electric steamer ready ( its what I used)
  • Grease puto molds with some pam then pour some mixture to the molds, (Don't skip this one) Filling each about 1/3 full.
  • Steam flan on low heat for about 10 minutes. At this point the flan would not be fully set but should not be liquidy either. Set aside to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, sift dry ingredients of the puto together. Add in the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. ( Do not over mix)
  • Pour mixture over flan, filling molds nearly to the top.
  • Steam the puto on low heat for another 15 minutes. Remove from steamer and let cool slightly.
  • To remove from molds, Carefully run a thin knife around ( It should be easy to take it off since you sprayed it some pam)
  • Invert the mold and tap to release the Puto Flan.

The Cooking spray makes it really easy to take off from the mold!

Let me know what you guys think!

Cellini Ristorante Sacile

After the Carnevale ( Sacile Carnevale )
We went to have dinner in one of my favorite restaurant in town.
I really love living in this town and being 10 minutes walk away from everything
makes it even better.

I probably been here 3 times and every time I go they never disappoint.
Their service, food and over all is just so good.

 Their menu.
I'm glad they have English one!

Prosecco time.

With my loves.

We started off with some Bruschetta with mushroom and smoked duck breast.
It was my first time having this and wow.. it was so good!

Secondi is  Pumpkin Gnocchi with dried eggplants and rocket pesto.
I am actually been looking for some Pumpkin Pasta since fall.
But, never get to find one.
So when I saw this on the menu I had to try it.
It was so yummy!

Hubby's calzone.

Capiciosa pizza.
My favorite!

And of course, Tiramisu for dessert!

It was such a good dinner.
I don't mind coming back here again.
Maybe, to try their other dish?!

I highly recommend this restaurant!
Let me know what you guys think!

Ciao Ciao.

Sacile Carnevale

Happy March!!!
Last weekend was a beautiful weekend.
The weather was perfect.

Sacile, where we live had their annual Carnevale.
We went last year and I had a great time, we had to come again.

Carnevale is the lat celebration before lent begins on Ash Wednesday here in Italy.
Lent has historically been the time before Easter.
The thought is to party until you drop and spend the period of Lent recovering.
Celebrations are held all over Italy.

This is one of my favorite Italian celebration.

Little man's favorite part was throwing confetti. haha!

Kids usually put on costumes.
It was so cute!

The parade usually last an hour.
The floats are just all so awesome.

Last year little man was asleep.
This year he is ready to party.

All of these people dancing makes me want to join them!
It looks fun.

My friend also joined us.

After the Carnevale pictures.

Love love this beautiful town.
I'm glad I'm just 10 minutes walk away from this.

It was a fun day.

Have a great week!!!

Ciao Ciao!
