Halo Halo

Halo Halo.

So what is Halo Halo?
It means Mix-mix (translated in tagalog)
Pretty much saying its a mix of stuff!

Halo Halo is a traditional dessert, snack in the Philippines.
It's our version of Shaved ice in the US.
The only difference is we put a lot of these authentic toppings and evaporated milk
to make it even better.

There is so many versions of these.
You can totally put everything you want.
To leche flan, Plantains banana, boba.
Anything you want!

The traditional one is the one with leche flan.
I swear, there's nothing else better than this on a hot day!

The ingredients is not that hard to find everywhere in the world.
All you have to do is a find a Filipino Grocery store and this is usually one of the stuff
they have.
They know Filipinos love this stuff!

Halo Halo

Ingredients

  • sweet red bean (munggo)
  • sweet white beans
  • coconut gel (nata de coco)
  • macapuno (gelatinous coconut string)
  • Fresh or canned jackfruit, cut into chunks
  • Shaved ice
  • Evaporated milk
  • Ube ice cream

Instructions

  1. In a serving glass, layer sweet red bean, sweet white beans, coconut gel, macapuno, and jackfruit. Top with shaved ice. Drizzle about one tablespoon of evaporated milk over shaved ice. Top with a scoop of ube ice cream. Enjoy immediately

Like what I did, you can definitely put the shaved ice first then put everything on top.
    Depends on your preference!

How perfect does these look??

I couldn't help but dig in right away.
So perfect on hot Summer days!

Let me know what you guys think!

Enjoy!

I hope you are all having a good Summer!!

Father's Day Dinner

This year's Father's day was celebrated twice.
One is at home and at one of our favorite restaurant.

The Old wild West in Fiume Veneto.
There is a mall there so its a perfect place to go to after Shopping!

My boys loves this place.
This is probably our last time eating here.
All the last time is happening, it makes me sad.
But, I will just look forward for new beginnings.

We all got Burgers.
Their Burgers are so good.
It's the closest to American Burgers you can have here in Italy
other than Burger king or Mcdonalds.

It was a perfect day with my loves.

Daddy enjoying his beer.

While I enjoy my Dessert.

Have a good week.

Ciao, Ciao!

Simple meals/Healthy meals

With all the food I've been eating these past few days.
It's good to have days with simple meals.

It's also because it's time to clean up the Pantry.
Feels like I was just blogging about our arrival in Italy.
Now, it's almost time to leave.

Whipped up this Filipino style corned beef.
Sauteed with garlic, onions, potato and topped with some raw red onions.
Easy peasy.
You can't go wrong with this.

Matched with some Coffee Jelly.
I added Almond milk on this because it's my favorite milk these days.
It was sooo good!!

Yesterday, it was all about eating all the greens.
I still remember the days when I would make smoothies all the time.

I need to get back on that.

This was
Avocado
Spinach
Frozen Pineapples
Green apple
Yogurt.
Blend together.

For Dinner.
I was craving for Avocado toast.
Mashed avocado on top of a multigrain bread with mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, balsamic cream with few basil for garnish.

This was all so good guys.
I highly recommend!
What's your go-to easy meals/healthy meals?

I hope you are having a great week.

We come here every year and I'm sad it's our last time.

This time we went with friends.
We had the best time ever!

The weather was perfect.
I'm so glad the weather cooperated with us.

Volleyball in the sun and some awesome Filipino food.
Couldn't get any better than this!

Pandan Gulaman perfect to eat by the beach!

The boys had amazing time playing with friends too and of course swimming.

These awesome girls!

I'm so happy we got to spend some time before we leave next month.

 Beach, close to Aviano?
I highly recommend this one.
Being able to rent an umbrella by the water is just perfect.

Amazing day with friends and most especially amazing day with my loves.

Wish you all the best Summer!!

Nove (Italian Ceramic Shopping)

Now that we have over a month left.
My list of things to buy and wants to do needs to get checked.
And one of it is Ceramic shopping.

Italy is known to have the best Ceramics.
It's the best place to buy some.

Me and my girl friends decided to go on a day trip to Nove.
It's only about an hour and half drive.
It's not that bad.
I'm grateful we can go to another region now.
Wew!
I would be so sad not to be able to get what I want if we are leaving during a lockdown.

Our first stop is the ELIOS CERAMICHE.
You can just easily stop by and look around no appointments or anything needed.
With the new rules, of course you have to comply.
Wearing mask, social distancing, sanitize hands.

Like I always say.
I will never get used to this "NEW NORMAL"
But it is, what it is.
Better safe than sorry.

They have really unique designs that you can't find anywhere else.
The store has two floors.
Plenty of ceramics to choose from.

I picked few nice ceramics there.
It was nice.

Quote on a serving plate.
How cute!

Our second stop is the place I've been wanting to go.
The VBC Ceramica.

Google map it and these two store we went two is just about 5 minutes away.
That's so awesome!

They have tons of Ceramics!
To Authentic Italian designs,
To Tiffany ones..
Everything you can ever imagine.
It's amazing.
I swear I love this place.

That was a really tiring morning so we stopped for some fast food!

It was such an amazing day.
We had a blast!

Wear your mask!

I got home so happy!!
So happy with everything I found.

If you are stationed here in Aviano.
You need to get some.
Even just a little bit.

What an amazing day!!!!
