House hunting.

Last Saturday we started our house hunting.
It started great but we definitely need to keep looking.

This week we will spend more time looking at potential houses.
I have a lot on my list but, I'm hoping that we will find the one this week.

We finally went off base by ourselves by the way!
It was definitely exciting to say the least.

This is the first house, It was a nice fenced house with yard.
3 bedrooms and 2 baths.
This part was the living room. I really love it.
But, there's some parts of the house I didn't like.
It's a little old and there's so many stairs!
I'm scared for my little ones.

The kitchen

living room

..And hubby didn't like it.

Moving on..
House number 2!
We really liked this house.
It's seems so new and a really modern house.

Little man likes it, I think.

3rd house which we saw today.
It has 4 bedrooms!
I really liked the inside not so much the outside.
The couple who owns the house was so nice too.
When they found out I'm Filipina they were so happy.
The guy said she knows how filipina's are.
Filipina's know how to keep a house clean. Well. he's right we don't
want dirty house. :)
He said he has another house that got rented by a filipina and american husband
just likes us.

4th house was like the first one.
Italian style house. A little old.
So much room!
But, It didn't feel like it's the one.

So moving on on our last house for the day.
AHHH.. I love this one.
3 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms.
Modern. looks new.

We just didn't like the commute.
Why can't we find the perfect one?!!

This is one of the roads on the way to that house.
It was a turn off.

I'm a bit sad.
But, Hopefully we will find the "one"
There's still some potentials on these houses we just need to make a hard decision.

Today was a sunny day by the way!
We've been here for 2 weeks and it has been so rainy and cloudy.
When its Sunny it brightens up my mood.
Really love seeing it today.

Not exactly a bad day but I'm just feeling down and exhausted.
Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

Thanksgiving weekend.

Hi friends!!!
How was your Thanksgiving?
Our Thanksgiving this year was different than it has been.
We celebrated it just us this year. We usually spend it with friends and hubby's co-workers.
Well, we had an early thanksgiving dinner in Iowa with my in-laws and friends which was
nice, we thought about not cooking anything special but hubby insisted to still have
something.
It was good. We cooked food that is not usual for Thanksgiving.
I really wanted something different.

To be honest, I really miss cooking.
I miss sharing recipes too!
I will get back to it when we get to move in to our own place.
Hopefully we will find one soon.
Anyways, for our Thanksgiving dinner we just had small turkey ( we didn't want a lot of leftovers)
Pasta Salad, (which was so good, will share recipe soon) and Cheesy hashbrown casserole.

I'm so glad our room has everything we need for cooking.

..And for dessert apple pie. (pre-made)

I finally got to try wine made in Italy for the first time.
Well, it's nothing really crazy just my favorite moscato for now.
Next time I'll try something new!

Hubby also tried these belgian beers.
He said it was okay.

The rest of the weekend will be just relaxing and a lot of this.
Little man loved it!
Next week we will start our house hunting.
I'm so excited.

Happy weekend!

Quick Aviano tour.

Last Sunday, Hubby's friend took us to a quick tour of Aviano.
I was so excited.
I love the vibe here.
I'm going to love living here!

Before anything else, of course we had our first authentic Italian food.
He took us to a restaurant called Spaghetti house (San giorgio restaurant)
To be honest, I got  a little nervous.
Because, I mean do they speak English?
They actually do!

I ordered the meal I'm familiar with and I just can't wait to try their version of Carbonara.
It's actually really good.
You can tell the sauce is homemade.

Little man had pizza and hubby got a "surprise" meal.
I think the waiter can tell that hubby likes white sauce. haha!
He loved it.

Okay, so Dining out here in Italy is really different.
No drink refills,( I need to get used to it! haha)  they have "Antipasto" which is appetizer.
there's first course, second before the main course.
But, you can just skip everything and get the main dish.
One of the things I like the most is that when you get a table
no rush, you can hangout there all day if you want.
Every time we dine out in the states.
Feels like everybody is rushing us.
I like taking my time while eating.
I am really going to love here!

After lunch, we went for a drive around and he showed us a lot of places.
I just cannot get over how nice it is here.

We stopped and went for a walk around Sacile.
It was a Sunday afternoon means most places are closed so it was a quiet, nice walk.

The weather was so nice that day too.
Perfect for a walk.

Beautiful!

After our walk.
We stopped by at the mall.
I was curious to see what kind of mall they have here in Italy.
It was actually nice.
They only store I'm familiar with is H&M.
The local stores are nice too and they didn't seem pricey.

It was a great day.
I'm excited to see more!

Temporary Home.

Hello everyone!
How is your weekend going?

Anyways, a little update.
It's been 3 days since we got here.
Still can't believe we are here in Italy.
Probably because we haven't been really going out of the house.

We've been staying in because...
One, the little ones are not really feeling well.
Two, the weather is not really good for doing something outdoor.
It's cold and rainy, all day.
Three, we are still jetlagged.
I don't know how long we need to be fully adjusted.
But I feel fine.
Everything is going good.
Couldn't ask for anything better.

Little peek of our temporary home.

Look how awesome is that view!
View from our bedroom window!

Main bedroom and bedroom for the kids.
Isn't nice?
I love it!

When we got there.
There is a basket of welcome home kit.
A starter kit from hubby's co-workers, I thought that's really nice of them!
It was really useful.

I didn't get to take picture of the rest of the room/apartment.
But, it looks like a condominium style ( Philippines condo style)

Completely furnished living room, kitchen.
Everything we need is there.
I can cook, do laundry, clean, anything. which was really nice!

Another reason why we've been just staying home since we got here is that
we've been on the go for the last 2 weeks.
I just want to stay home, relax and sleep!

I finally decided it's time to get out of the room Thursday
For some groceries.
It's just a walk away which is a good thing since we still don't have vehicle.
I can't wait to get our own car.

Look how weird this looks.

2nd day in Italy, we had american food. hehe :)

3rd day in Italy we had Filipino food.
Yup, still no  Italian food.
But, its okay we have plenty of time to try it.

Happy weekend!
